havent updated in ages, just a quick update to let you all know that i have finally left hobbes' house as of today, wont be online for a while as i have to sort stuff out, if you need me you know where i am though, hope everyone is keeping ok :)

The end of a long week

finally finished all my christmas shopping, and in amongst night duty and day shifts i managed a birthday meal and a christmas party

and being all grown up, i finally got around to opening my savings account

ive been completely bunged with the cold so havent eaten much all week, so im now down to a size 6 (haha as if) mum had bought me loads of party food for my night duty, including a birthday cake and it was quite funny watching all the doctors sing to me just so they could join our wee party

thanks to everyone who sent birthday wishes, including some folks i havent talked to in a long time, it was a lovely thought

hope everyone is doing well and getting in the festive spirit :)

i think im claiming the crown for the stupidest person around, i talk to people day in and day out about looking after themselves, especially where the sun is concerned, so what do i do today. i forget to put suncream on, go outside and get lost chatting to someone for 2 hours, final result a painful lobster look

the WORST professional day of my life, anyone who knows me will vouch on the fact that i dont do stress

but my day just went from worse to worse in work and i get so stressed out that i made an ass of myself and cried in work!

my advice, NEVER do nursing, it has its rewards maybe one day out of ten, but most of the time, you go that extra mile to help someone and get no thanks and then there is never anyone willing to go that extra mile to help you!!

and support from management, no matter how high up you go does not exist!

wed: fly into heathrow, definitely not as scarily big as i was expecting, atlanta airport is far more intimidating, met spike and went to nottinghill / covent garden area for lunch then met up with my wonderful uncle to get house keys and random directions to his place, then back into london to have some drinks at ben crouches (i love that pub) and no spike didnt see julian mcmahon, liev schrieber or the nottinghill door despite claiming otherwise

thurs: went to random magic shop and decided all magicians in london are lanky guys with dark hair then we met up with PoF and went to the zoo, its quite a good zoo, but it was bloody freezing, it amazing how jumpy spike is though, with snakes, birds and butterflies lol went somewhere for dinner which was nice then went back to ben crouches for some drinks and to let the guys practice their 'bird-watching'

fri: went to tate modern which was ok, some completely random shite in it, then went to a lovely italian for lunch :) then on to the natural history museum which was cool, very interactive and interesting :) eventually found martin and shibs and went to erm a bar near monument for a girls birthday, was quite a good night, spike getting annoyed at blokes beside us, martin spilling drink over a sleeping girl, shibs showing the underground system how well her digestive system works (thankfully spike and i had left by that point)

sat: got to see my wee cousin for a bit before heading to stevenage to watch spike practice his culinary skills :) martin and shibs and debbie all came round to spikes where he entertained like a perfect host, played lots of funny games and drank lots of wine and watch some random trampolining dvd and some quiz mania which sucks

sun: lazed around spikes until i had the energy to walk to the train station, went back to finsbury and just relaxed about the house reading and doing not much else

mon: up at the crack of dawn to get an early flight home, and here i am :)

just want to thank spike for keeping me company all week, and it was nice to see everyone else :)

yucky day in work today, i deal with death quite a lot, and i tend to cope ok with it (when its not personal)

but today was the first time i have ever had to tell someone that their relative died and i felt like complete shite

hopefully i wont have to repeat it again too often, but we all know how likely that is working in a hospital :/

ok so i got my dates wrong in the last post, its actually two and a half weeks til i go away and i cant wait :D

almost done house sitting, so back to the family on friday (good to get away from cats, bad to not be on my own anymore)

nothing exciting to report, working loads, had mates over a bit in the good weather which was nice, but of course it meant no sleep, but im tough i can deal with it :D

so yeah i was told i should do an update in my lj, but i never really have stuff to update about, still working away in the hospital and loving it, still getting things ready for my hols in 4 and a half weeks :D

starky was over to visit this weekend which was lovely, and i had my graduation yesterday which was so unbelievably posh!

claire stayed last night and we possibly drank a little bit too much, but hey life is all good :D

ok i went in to town to do for some holiday shopping, got my rucksack, sleeping bag, some shoes and other stuff

but jude, just for you i bought myself a pair of pink pj's to wear at ur house. you should feel so honoured, i dont wear pink for anyone!!!

anyways nothing else to report, working lots, trying to save but failing miserably
